The Polish sprinter Ewa Klobukowska held the world record for the women's 100m dash in 1965 after winning a gold medal in the 4x100 relay and a bronze in the 100m dash at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. She lived with anatomical contradictions throughout her life growing to a svelte and muscular 5'7" but with a powerful attractiveness that never left her without male attention. The comparisons between her figure and her male counterparts caused her to fall under suspicion in 1966. At that time, the only available gender test for athletes was a nudity test which Klobukowska passed. As suspicion continued to hover around her, she was given a chromosome test which she failed and was subsequently banned from her sport in 1967.
